Santa Taranta Live at Co.As.It. - Italian Assistance Association
Santa Taranta is a Melbourne-based band playing a mix of original music and traditional music from southern Italy.
The group has hit the ground winning over crowds at the National Folk Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, Piers Festival, Fairbridge Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, as well as many concerts at prominent Melbourne music venues.
Santa Taranta are Salvatore Rossano (accordion, percussion, sax, voice), Emiliano Beltzer (guitar, mandolin, bass guitar), Hayley Egan (voice, percussion), Francesco Bufarini (guitar, diatonic accordion, voice, percussion). Santa Taranta plays Pizzica, Tammurriata, Stornelli, as well as Polkas from the barbershop and the occasional serenade d’amore, with a contemporary, worldly flair.
This special concert for the Museo will introduce the audience to some of the new songs included in their upcoming first album 'Sete' and will bring to the audience to a journey through the sounds of the Mediterranean Sea.
