Event overview:

Through his images, music and poetry Alessandro Carta will guide the audience in an atmospheric journey of soul-searching. Alessandro will share his two lives, the Italian and the Australian, by recollecting and reciting poems accumulated over more than thirty years, punctuated by instrumental interludes composed and played by the author himself.

There will be a Q&A session with the audience at the end of the evening.

All poems will be recited in both English and Italian.

The book Sui Sentieri del Cuore – On the Paths of the Heart will be for sale on the evening at the special price of  $20.

The author: 

Alessandro Carta was born in Rome in 1952. He graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1975 where he started to experiment with painting, graphics, poetry and music. He migrated to Brisbane in 1985 where, after a few years spent in the building industry, he resumed his artistic vocation. In 1991 he became part of the Queensland Multicultural Writers while teaching Italian to the elderly and the disabled. In 1994 he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and became a teacher of Italian Language in primary schools with the Department of Education of Queensland. A car accident in 1995 forced him to resign from this position and he has since taught Italian at the Institute of Modern Languages (University of Queensland) and engaged in musical and artistic endeavours.

Sui Sentieri del Cuore – On the Paths of the Heart is his first book.
