True blue Aussie Harrison Lockett, chef at the historic Italian restaurant University Cafe in Lygon Street, will represent the Museo Italiano (Co.As.It.) at the very first Melbourne Multicultural Museums Cook Off competition.
Harrison says: "A great opportunity to showcase Melbourne’s culinary diversity: I look forward to representing the Museo Italiano in this wonderful challenge!"

Inspired by Jon Faine’s “call to cook”, the Multicultural Museums of Melbourne Cook Off competition celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Melbourne through a unique and exciting cooking extravaganza. The Multicultural Museums Cook off challenges the culinary skills of four vibrant, culturally diverse contemporary chefs to reinvent their traditional fare and present the most exciting fusions of Multicultural Melbourne.
The participating Museums are:
- the Hellenic Museum;
- the Islamic Museum of Australia;
- the Jewish Museum of Australia;
- the Museo Italiano.

To celebrate the inaugural Multicultural cook- off, 774 ABC Melbourne's Sunday Mornings program presented by Libbi Gorr will broadcast from the Islamic Museum of Victoria from 10-12pm. Together with special, host of 774 Mornings Jon Faine the pair will cook-up something special for listeners.
Jon Faine has a special interest in all of the above and it was he who provided the inspiration behind this event. As Jon puts on his MC hat, Libbi will add her natural flair for compelling conversation and surprising entertainment, garnished with a splash of comedian Nazeem Hussain. 774 ABC Melbourne is sure to provide a Sunday Morning in the kitchen where things definitely get hot!
