Internment

During the Second World War many Italians living in Australia were interned as potential enemies.

The Italian Historical Society has compiled an electronic database of all Italian civil internees, using individual records extracted from Australian military archives. Data on each internee includes date and place of birth, details of arrest and release from internment, profession and next of kin.

The collection can be searched here.
