De Bolfo Collection

The De Bolfo collection holds material assembled by Melbourne journalist and writer Tony De Bolfo over a period of eight years. Tony De Bolfo's grandfather Silvio De Bolfo was one of the passengers on the steamship Re d’Italia when it came to Australian in 1927. Working from the original passenger list, Tony De Bolfo reconstructed the life stories of 110 men, women and children who migrated to Australia in 1927 aboard this ship.

The painstaking research was used to write a book published as In Search of Kings. What Became of the Passengers of the “Re d’Italia” (2002) Harper Collins.

The collection includes images and documents gleaned from governmental and family sources.
