Italians have played a pivotal role in the Australian food industry since the 1800s as manufacturers, retailers, winemakers, caterers, chefs, waiters, and restaurant owners and managers.

The food industry collection of documents and ephemera includes: menus; packaging labels; newspaper cuttings and historical notes pertaining to such household names as: Florentino, The Latin, La Tosca/Hoddle Café, Mario's, Molina's, Ricco's, The Society and Verdi Café.
